Job Description:
Seeking a MS Project Server and planning process support professional as part of the Global Business Services (GBS) EPMA team supporting the Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) Planning organization and the iEPM tool set. This position will be responsible for providing support to IDS for a business specific planning and scheduling integrated process and toolset - integrated Enterprise Project Management (iEPM). The job will provide administrator support, report generation, maintenance, backup, and security for all programs on the iEPM server, and also will provide one on one support to planners on planning and EV processes and their interfaces with the iEPM toolset, including making recommendations to the planners on correct course of action as needed.

  • This person will use and apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques associated with .NET C# , SQL Server and Microsoft Project server.
  • Provides solutions to technical software problems using ingenuity and creativity as a self-starter with little management oversight, following department processes and procedures aligned with the IDS business specific procedures and direction.
  • Work will have a large impact on current and future organization decisions and may provide guidance to junior staff.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs, will function in major leadership role as business representative for IDS for implementing business directed priorities on the business specific tool, iEPM.
  • Will work within the GBS EPMA org, however will be supporting a business specific tool (vs the enterprise tools), and therefore will have more complex responsibilities as the role will take direction for priorities and scope from the IDS business and interact directly with all levels of IDS business, leadership to planners.
  • Will function as the leader and voice for representation of IDS established planning priorities and lead for all major iEPM projects. Interacts with senior software personnel through both written and verbal communication.
  • Has working knowledge of emerging software technologies. Produces documentation related to the design and release of software artifacts. Provides direct end user support and training for new and existing tools.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 8 years’ of professional experience in IS, IT, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of one (1) year as lead administrator support experienced in an MS Project Server environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of Enterprise Project Management environment, include Project and SQL Servers
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training to various levels of users
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting user data issues, and providing assistance to engineers supporting the project system server environment in resolving software, hardware, data flow, and network related issues
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and optimize server environments
  • Demonstrated experience in developing category and group permission hierarchies, and other structures (OBS, WBS, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience setting up and maintaining Project Web Access
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage security and custom views
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a program planner on an EV reporting program.
  • Must have extensive experience developing applications using C# .NET technologies.
  • Must have extensive experience with TSQL.
  • Must have prior experience as a planner/scheduler
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, training and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Measurement (EVMS)

Required Education (including Major): Minimum Degree: Bachelor’s Degree within Engineering, IS or related technical major.
