Job Description:

This is an opportunity to join the IDS Business Operations Finance Team as a Consulting and Financial Analyst. In this role you will support the IDS Global Integrated Supply Chain Front End of the Business (FEOTB) which includes Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Engineering, and Material Pricing and Estimating. The primary focus of the role will to be support the cross functional Technical Product Teams which include members from Quality, Engineering, Integrated Global Supply Chain, and Finance. As a member of the Technical Product Teams you will participate in the analysis, fact find, and decision making to support selection of Best Value Supplier Sourcing, and quantification of risk and opportunity analysis, for both domestic and international suppliers. You will assess the financial viability of potential suppliers as well as the ongoing monitoring of existing strategic suppliers. In addition you will drive the formulation of the annual overhead and staffing budgets, financial reporting, and analysis of overhead expense. You will also work with business operations team to score, evaluate, and report savings of material cost, and consult on ROI methodologies to evaluate and measure risk reduction.
The candidate should be able to work independently, but also be able to work in a collaborative, cross functional team environment.
This position interacts significantly with senior level managers, and Director level leaders, as well as IDS Finance.


Required Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of Financial Statements, such as Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statements of Cash Flow in order to evaluate financial soundness of supplier business operations
  • Ability to interact with principals (functional leaders) of privately and publically held companies in order to ascertain financial standing of respective business operation, and ability to access risk regarding business operations
  • Detailed understanding of product cost buildup including material, labor, ODC, and burden rate application in order to compare and evaluate supplier quotations
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations to contribute to the evaluation of potential suppliers from a quality, capability, capacity, and business management perspective
  • Familiarity with cost collection vehicles such as cost centers, cost distribution pools and overhead centers
  • Understanding of FP&A principals such as AOP preparation, overhead pooling concepts, and cost allocation processes/methodologies
  • Professional experience with the Microsoft Office and APEX SAP suite of Tools


Detail Task Requirements

·Participate as a team member on Best Value Source Selection process including potential travel to supplier sites both domestic and international for fact finding

·Provide evaluations of supplier financial positions utilizing supplier provided financial statements, D&B Metrics, Credit Risk Monitor, and publicly available financial statements for publicly traded companies

·Provide supplier financial information and evaluation to ISC compliance for subcontracts, and to Corporate Treasury for large potential subcontracts, UCC filings, and performance based payments as required

·Participate in RESA (Raytheon Enterprise Supplier Assessment) scoring

·Participate in weekly team savings reviews including actual savings, forecasted savings, and evaluation of documentation (white papers) for soundness of methodology and ROI

·Participate and present financial savings status at weekly FEOTB Tech Team Review

·Participate and present financial savings status at quarterly IDS Global ISC VP FEOTB operations review

·Participate in monthly IDS Global ISC Supplier Risk Review, and provide information, updates, and mitigation plans as required

·Formulate, and provide analysis for annual financial operating plan working with senior management team, as well as annual EAC update

·Formulate and present monthly overhead financial status including headcount, projects, and travel, to director of FEOTB and management team.

·Provide Ad Hoc financial evaluations as required for capture teams, capital investment, and existing program teams

Desired Qualifications:
  • Seven to ten years of related finance, accounting or related business experience
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proactive with demonstrated ability to creatively problem solve
  • Working knowledge of Raytheon financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast paced work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • R6S and EVMS certified

Required Education (including Major):

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field of study
  • MBA Preferred but not required
