Become an integral part of the Security Solutions Business Unit (SSBU) that supports highly critical missions and makes a difference on a daily basis. At ManTech you will help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement.

The SSBU Technical Director, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager (BUGM), is responsible for setting the technical vision that complements our business vision and the tone and direction of the business unit’s solution and service offerings. Combining deep customer, industry and competitive insight, you will provide technical leadership, vision and inspiration needed to bring competitive advantage to the Mission.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide reliable technical assessments and due diligence of potential mergers and acquisitions and the synergies that those technologies could generate within ManTech
• Work closely with the BUGM and Division Managers in formulating future business growth strategies
• Provide IRAD and Solution Development Leadership and Oversight in support of existing Program and New Business Opportunities
• Establish budgets for all IRAD projects and establish strong reporting mechanisms to monitor and control these expenses
• Lead the transition of IRADs and solutions to appropriate operating units
• Bring positive attention to ManTech, helping our brand and our reputation by collaborating with peers outside the company, presenting at technology conferences, and writing for publication
• Communicate the company’s technology strategy and vision to management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders to promote the company’s reputation
• Work with Division Managers to recruit, manage and continuously develop a top-flight team of technology professionals
• Technical Capabilities, Strategy and Direction
o Thorough understanding of the current and emerging capabilities within the BU
o Remaining current on the trends within the BU’s current accounts and being mindful of what is transpiring within the commercial segment that could be applied to the BU’s customer set
? Working closely with the Group CTO to remain cognizant of the commercial technical outreach that is ongoing
o Participating in customer visits presenting the technical capabilities of the BU, Group and Corporation
• Capture
o Lead customer Request for Information (RFI) responses for the business unit
o Participating in the creation of the “Why ManTech” briefing to both customers as well as candidate teammates as we pursue prime opportunities
o Presenting the technical content of the “Why ManTech” briefing to must have teammates
o When visiting mission customers prior to receipt of any RFP docs, presenting ManTech’s pertinent technical capabilities
• Proposals / Solutioning
o Participation can be widespread, from:
? Active participation, inclusive of writing, in the proposed solution
? Be a volume lead, most likely Technical but could be Management as well
? Color teams: as a reviewer or a Volume Lead gathering the inputs from other reviewers
o This activity would not be limited to just the BU. This support could be companywide.
• Program Execution
o Active participant in developing as well as executing pre-award activities for strategic new bids
o Providing mentorship to PMs
o Assess and recommend enhancements to program policy, procedure, structure,… based upon his/her understanding of the BU’s program portfolio

Required Skills and Experience:
• Ten to fifteen years of progressively responsible experience developing and leading systems engineering, information technology, and/or mission oriented solutions and service offerings in intelligence-related markets
• Inspiring leader with strong interpersonal and relationship development/management skills in order to lead, influence and interact with individuals at all levels of the company
• Strong working relationships with professional organizations and industry peers. Keeps up-to-date and informed regarding technology best practices, trends, industry standards, and competition
• Broad experience and knowledge of current and emerging information technologies such as offensive cyber tool development, virtualization, cloud computing, information sharing, data mining, secure network design, data analytics, and engineering processes including CMMI, agile development and ITIL
• Dynamic presentation and public speaking skills, excellent written communication skills
• Comfortable working with senior executives and display ability to develop relationships at all levels
• Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to establish technology investment budgets and establish strong reporting mechanisms to monitor and control these expenses

Security Clearance: Top Secret with SCI eligibility, preferably with polygraph

Education: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field
Preferred: Master’s Degree or higher in Engineering or an equivalent technical field
