As a Business Analytics Engineer (Principal Multi-Discipline Engineer), you will report to the Engineering Metrics & Analytics Team lead and will be working with a team, following Engineering processes, providing Subject Matter Expertise, interdisciplinary collaboration, interfacing with multiple echelons of the IIS business (e.g., functions, mission areas, and programs), and contributing to the design/development of solutions to ensure analytics tools, processes and metrics are effectively used to estimate new and ongoing program(s) at Raytheon.

The Business Analytics Engineer duties require leveraging your skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data analysis and metrics management solutions to tackle business problems.

Duties include but not limited to :

? Work with the Engineering leadership to affect change to ensure analytics tools, processes and metrics are effectively used to estimate new and ongoing program(s)

? Work to achieve operational targets with major impact on the departmental results

? Contribute to the development of team goals

? Work with Stakeholders to identify opportunities and resolve issues with Engineering metrics, analysis, and reporting

? Recommend and implement enhancements that standardize and streamline processes, assure data quality and reliability, and reduce processing time to meet internal and external customer expectations

? Work with team to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that are in the best interest of the business

? Support the Metrics & Analytics Team lead with monitoring and reporting progress of team’s assignments to Senior Leadership

? Coordinate with other departments to combine and prepare monthly metrics report for the business area and corporate level senior leadership

? Solve problems and offer ideas to address internal customer issues

? Escalate roadblocks that may impact performance at the program, Engineering function, or business levels

? Turn analytic insights into actionable results that enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and/or bottom line for the business

? Communicate technical information in a way that business users understand easily

? Provide data driven insights and visualizations

? Assist program teams with the proper use of IIS Metrics & Analytics methods

? Interface with multiple echelons of the IIS business, functions, mission areas, and programs

Clearance Requirement: Must be a US Citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • ? Bachelor degree and at least 8+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or related position
  • ? Ability to communicate complex technical information in a concise and easy to understand format (verbal, written, or visual)
  • ? Ability to conduct root cause analysis
  • ? Resourceful in autonomously getting things done, self-starter, and productive working independently or collaboratively
  • ? Demonstrated experience with cross-functional collaboration and influence, must be cooperative, flexible and able to work well with others
  • ? Proactive with a willingness to try to figure out challenges on your own before asking for help, balanced with knowing when to ask for help
  • ? Ability to assist review and improvement of data collection and data analysis processes
  • ? Demonstrated experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting Engineering metrics
  • ? Proficiency with spreadsheets (MS-Excel), PowerPoint, as well as Internet research tools
  • ? Demonstrated ability to develop status reports senior leadership
  • ? Ability to influence and communicate with cross functional teams for knowledge share
  • ? Ability to communicate with external vendors for state of the art tools and trainings
  • ? Willingness to learn new technologies
  • ? Strong leadership skill including, but not limited to, guidance, coaching and mentoring other team members
  • ? Candidate must have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

Desired Experience, Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities (not required but a plus):

  • ? Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and/or Lean Kanban development
  • ? Demonstrated experience working closely with customers and understanding their needs
  • ? Experience with preparing data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards, etc.)
  • ? Experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • ? Knowledge of configuration management
  • ? Experience in using task tracking tools e.g., JIRA, Rational Team Concert (RTC), QC, etc.
  • ? Raytheon 6 Sigma Certification or industry equivalent
  • ? Experience in a fast paced environment with ability to readily adapt to shifting priorities
  • ? Familiarity with CMMI level 3 process areas

Education Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Operations Research or Mathematics (STEM). Master degree preferred.
