REQUIREMENT OVERVIEW: To provide Operations/Program Management for Raytheon Global Training Services (GTS) Aviation Training Program. The Aviation Training Program is one of several contingency operations task orders within GTS Support Mission (SM) and is fast paced, complex and demanding requiring commitment and dedication above and beyond normal business hours/expectations. This position reports directly to the Deputy Program Manager, Contingency Operations and provides direct support to the OCONUS Aviation Program Manager. Project Manager’s primary role is to provide subject matter expertise on pilot qualification training and aviation maintenance, business development opportunities and generation and management of task orders. Provides oversight of all aviation pilot and maintenance task orders with strong emphasis on systems, processes, and proposal development. Must generate project management actions based upon statements of work provided by the customer; prepare program management review material, material and labor budgets, forecasting, and data analysis for the project. Interface with other functional support leads to assist with project management. Extensive travel is required.
POSITION TITLE: Aviation Project Manager / Subject Matter Expert (SME)
WORK HOURS: Standard work week will be 40-hours/week. Position requires nights and weekends, at times on short notice. Overseas travel and 24 hour accessibility are required.
WORK LOCATION: Orlando, Florida
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The candidate must be an aviation subject matter expert (SME), and must have / held former military or commercial pilot ratings, or have / had extensive aviation maintenance supervisor experience on Rotary Wing (MD 530, Mi17 and/or UH 60) and/or Fixed Wing, (C208 and/or A-29) aviation platforms. Must have executive level management skills in order to develop/maintain customer and program partnerships with internal functional organizations; such as contracts, finance, procurement, logistics, administration; and the external customer; PEOSTRI. Candidate will be point of contact for status and performance on assigned Task Orders; must be able to anticipate and satisfy customer requirements; develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards as well as be expert in field within the business segment. This person will be expected to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions affecting the entire business segment. The candidate will work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated and self-supervisory. Candidate will serve as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives within the business segment. Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility.


  • Military and/or Commercial rated pilot or have extensive maintenance supervisory experience on RW aircraft such as MD 530, UH-60, & Mi17 platforms and/or FW aircraft such as C208 or A-29.
  • Executive level Communication, Organizational, Analytical and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Executive level experience in preparing written correspondence and information products.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to timely implement new solutions.
  • Eight (8) years related experience.
  • Demonstrated MS Office and Personal Computer (PC) Skills.
  • Must be a self-starter with good organizational skills who can work both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Complex management skills and willing to seek assistance/information as required.
  • Able to travel (both CONUS and OCONUS) as required.
  • Ability to interface on a regular basis with executive management and personnel of varying disciplines.

  • Previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
  • CGSC or ILE Graduate
REQUIRED EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree from accredited school & eight (8) years of related experience, OR six (6) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (16 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
