  • Rapidly come up to speed on existing products, systems and capabilities that relate to areas of current and new development
  • Understand customer objectives and requirements, and conceptualize and put into practice new solutions
  • Brief those solutions to the customer community as the customer concepts evolve into firmer requirements and expectations
  • Define, analyze and document CONOPS, system requirements and specifications, and system architecture
  • Generate concrete plans for loosely defined and/or highly complex challenges to enable engineering teams to execute and deliver solutions accordingly
  • Lead teams of engineers to develop and integrate software, hardware and FPGA components and platforms to form new solutions
  • Create the appropriate systems documentation (e.g. RVTM, I&T plans, acceptance test plans/procedures, test reports) required to develop, integrate, test and deliver to meet customer objectives
  • Provide technical, system operation and training support
  • Communicate with customer throughout the systems/product development lifecycle to ensure satisfaction of customer objectives within cost and schedule constraints
  • Lead proposal preparation and program definition
  • Be a mentor to less experienced engineers

  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering/integration and product development
  • Practical experience in digital signal processing algorithms and implementation
  • Extensive experience in broadband communications including telecommunications, networking, network operations, transport structures and switching equipment; or deep understanding of a related area and the demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly on new equipment
  • Practical experience in the development, integration and deployment of software, hardware and FPGA-based components and subsystems in advanced products and systems
  • Experience with enterprise-level telecom equipment, both in configuration and concepts of operation
  • Experience leading cross-discipline (e.g., software, hardware and FPGA) engineering teams to develop, integrate and deploy advanced products and systems for government missions
  • Practical experience in systems integration and test of software-intensive systems
  • Experience as an individual contributor and/or technical lead in all phases of systems/product development life cycle
