The candidate will perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments. The candidate will troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions.
The candidate will participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
The candidate will coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
This position requires access to Export Controlled Information and the ability to obtain a security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Successful candidates will have the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Physics, Material Sciences and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related background or field of study.
Knowledge of Materials and Processes for development, design, application and production.
Experience reviewing engineering drawings or blueprints.
Familiar with a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines such as metals, composites, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations.
Strong writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
These are skills that will set the ideal candidates apart:
Previous experience working on aerospace products.
Familiar with a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines including structural materials, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, and manufacturing operations.
Understanding of material properties, definitions, production and application.
Familiarity with technical requirements (material and process specifications, program requirements, etc.).
Ability to multi-task, handle shifting priorities and timeline pressure to meet project deadlines.
Previous failure analysis/resolution experience.
