Description:Provide leadership for project managers in Sustainment Operations. This role is expected to perform as the leader of large, highly complex, multi-platform initiatives. Leads team through execution of project scope and objectives, by developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reporting. Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members.
• Assessment and coordination of sustainment impacts from new or modified scope
• Orchestrate executable technical plans that are integrated into the full sustainment portfolio
• Address issues, identify risks and opportunities, handling strategies, and interact with program offices, stakeholders and customers
• Provide project management and direction to ensure overall success of assigned initiatives
• Defines project success criteria, in collaboration with project sponsors
• Drafts and submits budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes; estimates resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
• Determines and assesses requests for additional staff and/or consultants and works with and retains outside service providers where needed to complete IT projects
• Collaborates with the Change Management Team to develop and appropriately execute a communication strategy, including stakeholder analysis, ongoing communications and adoption plans
• Manages relationships across organization and divisions to develop a thorough understanding of core business functions and align project with overall business objectives
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in technical related field
- Previous experience in leading technical teams
- Experience in project management
- Trained / Experienced in Change Management
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Skills:
- Subject matter expert (SME) in all aspects of project management and applicable business functions
- Change Management (Prosci) Certification
