This is a temporary position of undetermined length.
The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for inventory management of assigned hardware assets for the purpose of ensuring an accurate inventory of RMS IT hardware assets and the most optimal utilization of the Company resources all while promoting asset management best practices. This position will assist with tracking and reporting on the IT Asset Lifecycle of the desktop, server and network environments including managing, reviewing and evaluating data for opportunities to improve our asset management position, and redeployment of available assets. Key functions will include asset purchase, asset discovery, MACD, asset disposal, and collection of asset data in a central repository. The IT Asset Management Specialist:
Developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to the inventory and management of all IT Hardware Assets.
Implementing and ensuring data accuracy of the Hardware Asset Lifecylcle Management Database. (Hardware Asset Management tools).
Real Time tracking and auditing all hardware assets and reconciliation of procurement records to asset inventory.
Providing reconciliation results for processing of hardware maintenance renewals.
Ensuring hardware assets are monitored and maintained in the asset tracking system
Suppling monthly reports from hardware asset tools for reconciliation and hardware asset discovery.
Coordinating with IT Contract Governance function to ensure supplier compliance with all terms and conditions of Hardware Contracts including maintenance effective dates, warranty periods, and technical support coverage.
Provides recommendations to manager regarding asset optimization and process improvements
Coordinating and aligning with technical owners involved with management of IT assets
Practical application of hardware asset management functions.
Perform review and evaluation of IT hardware needs & requests, initiate purchase requisitions including tracking the procurement progress, and inform users of projected delivery dates.
Tracking asset receipt, deployment, MACD, and disposal of IT assets.
Maintain and manage the system of record for IT hardware assets.
Complete internal hardware asset audits, analyze results, identify trends, and recommend and implement solutions to ensure consistent annual asset refresh costs and standards compliance
Actively participate in yearly hardware planning needs
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Exceptional analytical and data management skills (Advanced Excel is a must)
Ability to act independently with minimal direction from supervisor.
3+ years of progressive hardware asset management experience involving purchasing, receiving, deployment, disposal, contract reviews (terms and conditions), hardware maintenance renewals and risk management strategies.
Knowledge & experience with Eracent and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
Required Education: B.A / B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Operations Management. Degree in a Business, IT Law or Economics discipline with required experience is acceptable.
