Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) is seeking a Business Development Senior Manager responsible for growing Raytheon’s business in South Korea that result in bookings/sales. The role will lead the sales and marketing activities for Raytheon’s Naval, AMD and Kill Chain products such as IDS’ IAMD, SCS and MSS.
In addition, the BD Senior Manager will support and coordinate with IDS BDs and Capture Mangers to develop and implement of strategies and plans with appropriate short and long-term balance for the maximization of IDS products for the Korean defense markets. The Senior Manager is responsible for aggressively pursuing new business opportunities; developing relationships across the industry including customers such as S. Korean Ministry of Defense, military services, other parts of the S. Korean Government, as well as current and potential S. Korean industry partners with a goal of maximizing customer satisfaction. It is expected that the BD Senior Manager will be able to operate at both senior and working levels of the S. Korean Government.
The Senior BD manager will work across the enterprise with the international BD community, working directly with business program and capture leaders, and additional members of the Integrated Country Team, to form and maintain an aligned holistic approach to engagement relating to S. Korea. The position requires the ability to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-energy, and high-volume environment.

This position is located in Seoul, S. Korea and will be a member of the Raytheon country team reporting to the IDS International Business Development Executive and President, Raytheon International Korea, Inc.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead sales and marketing activities for Raytheon’s Naval, AMD and Kill Chain products such as IDS’ SCS, IAMD and MSS.
  • Lead the development of integrated, cross-business solutions that address ROK focus areas of Integrated Kill Chain and Korean Air and Missile Defense (KAMD).
  • Lead IDS BD and Capture teams of developing business opportunities that result in year over year bookings/sales growth commensurate with the dynamic Korean Defense market.
  • Develops relationships across the industry including customers such as S. Korean Ministry of Defense, military services, other parts of the S. Korean Government, as well as current and potential S. Korean industry partners
  • Lead in identifying, qualifying and developing capture strategies in support of Raytheon solutions and programs for the Korean defense markets
  • Support marketing activities in Korea such as meetings and communication between Raytheon and Korean POCs (Communicate to ROK Customers “Ministry of National Defense (MND), Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), ROK Military, etc.)
  • Gather and analyze information on Korea defense acquisition environment and marketing environment
  • Capitalizes on competitive intelligence and market data and clearly understands competitors’ strengths and weaknesses
  • Actively participate with Raytheon businesses in gate reviews, color teams, Strategic Planning, and other proposal activities
  • Support businesses in pursuing lateral opportunities and support current programs that are critical to the company.
  • Support offset project developments and negotiations.
  • Draw up Mid-term & Long-term sales forecast in Korea
  • Supports corporate communication and public relation strategies and actions with external audiences
Requirements:
  • 12+ years prior relevant experience inclusive of Korean military service and ROK force improvement related roles
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
  • Experiences in ROK acquisition and operations of Naval, KAMD and Kill Chain related products
  • Ten plus years of progressive experience in international affairs, acquisition, and/or marketing
  • Native Language Korean speaker
  • Excellent English skills (both oral, written); ability to succinctly report internally and routinely correspond with S. Korean Government via letters/faxes, reports and white papers.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Government (USG) foreign and security policies, including the USG export requirements (ITAR, etc.), procedures (FMS, etc.), and FCPA

Desired Qualifications:
  • Master Degree preferably in business administration, marketing, or government/international affairs
  • S. Korean nationality preferred
  • Working experience with the S. Korean government and international defense system acquisition processes and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal skills with special focus on cross-cultural issues and understanding; ability to successfully manage sensitive issues
  • Relevant experience in developing critical relationships
