Technical Advisor - Process
Position Description/Job Responsibilities
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
The Technical Advisor – Process, LNG is recognized by peers and industry as an expert in all process engineering activities related to executing grassroots or revamp engineering projects for LNG plants.
Scopes of work may range from feasibility studies to FEED and detailed engineering.
Candidate’s experience may be in process units or utilities & offsites systems, or both.
The candidate should be able to work as part of a team or lead small to medium size projects or areas within larger projects.
Responsible for developing or leading other engineers to develop heat and material balances using process simulation software, process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs); fluid hydraulic calculations to generate process data for in-line instruments and loads for rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors and turbines; determine system design pressures; design relief valves and relief systems including flare headers.
The successful candidate for this position enjoys working with people and has the majority of their experience with a major EPC company.
Applicants for this position will typically hold a certification as an EIT or Professional Engineer, although this is not required.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum eight (8 ) years experience and an average twelve plus (12 ) years experience.
Demonstrated leadership of a functional area on projects, including responsibility for budget and schedule of the assigned project area. Experience with employee performance appraisals and coaching required.
Related experience, including P&ID development, relief valve sizing, and hydraulic calculations. Knowledge of SmartPlant P&ID, Pro-II, and Unisim/Aspen software suites is desired. Experience leading small to large design groups is required.
