High School diploma or the equivalent is required. Associates degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering is preferred. In addition, a minimum of 2 year of directly related experience is required.
J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required.

Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Advanced Quality Inspector. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Inspects in-process and final electronic systems, precision electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies that will be launched into space.
Performs real time defect evaluation
Prepares QA documentation
Verifies corrective action implementation
Performs housekeeping audits
Verifies implementation of rework
Generates and/or verifies traceability information
Witness sets-up for electrical/mechanical tests
Interfaces with coworkers and internal customers and other departments
Will have contact with customer and/or government inspection personnel
Provide department summary reports on activities in the inspection area and conduct floor audits.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of and ability to be certified to J-STD-001ES (Space Addendum)
Knowledge with cable and harness inspection (IPC-WHMA-A620B)
Considerable knowledge of ESD control
Considerable knowledge of workmanship standards
Skilled in the set-up of basic electronic test configurations or mechanical test configurations
Skilled in using PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Skilled in use of basic mechanical measurement tools
Interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills
Must be able to work unsupervised and will be responsible for limited QA Engineering approvals
General knowledge of electronic theory, knowledge of manufacturing process, ability to read and inspect to assembly blueprint, wire list and parts list.
