Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or the equivalent is required. Associates degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering is preferred. In addition, a minimum of 6 years of directly related experience is required.
J-STD_001, 002, IPC 610, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-750 and X-Ray qualification certifications may be required
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced Quality Inspector. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Inspects parts, materials, assemblies and equipment to determine compliance to specified requirements
Performs product inspection
Performs real time defect evaluation
Prepares QA documentation
Generates and/or verifies traceability information
Coordinates Source Inspection requests
Uses photography equipment
Sets-up for electrical/mechanical tests using simple equipment
Operates automated and monitors automated test equipment
Interfaces with coworkers and internal customers and other departments
Occasional contact with suppliers

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong knowledge of electrical theory
Strong knowledge of ESD control
Strong knowledge of workmanship standards
Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Strong knowledge of statistics and process control techniques
Strong knowledge of operation of automated test equipment
Skilled in using PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel)
Skilled in using PC-DMIS software
Skilled in use of basic mechanical measurement tools
Interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills
Skilled in the set-up of basic electronic test configurations or mechanical test configurations
