Description:In support of the Sikorsky Facilities Design, Construction and Engineering organization, oversee the purchase of capital equipment for Connecticut sites, as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Capital Equipment procurement and Project Management activity for all Connecticut sites, including planning, design and construction, as well as relocation and rearrangement.
Preparation and monitoring of sustaining and capital budgets for Facilities projects implemented at all Connecticut sites.
Preparation and monitoring of project schedules.
Management of bidding and procurement of all materials and contracted services in support of projects.
Participation in 6 Sigma initiatives including training, 3P and VSM events, QCPC, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
Manage and oversee contractors, consultants, and technicians
Provide technical assistance to various Sikorsky entities in need of guidance related to capital equipment and/or project management (travel may be required)
Work closely with the Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) organization to provide support for initiatives and programs including Go Green energy reduction projects, the Contractor Review Board, and the Facilities ESH Annual Plan
Desired Skills:
Strong knowledge of manufacturing machinery, project management, and design and construction process.
Experience in leading projects, along with proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
Good communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present to internal and external customers
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with high level management, employees and customers, and interface with various departments across the enterprise
Proficient in use of SAP for creating and tracking Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders, as well as monitoring the Facilities Maintenance system.
Strong knowledge of contractor and supplier base.
Experience in computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
Strong adaptability skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
A team player who is willing to work in a creative, fast-paced atmosphere.
