Enterprise Architecture Operations Manager
The Enterprise Architecture & Emerging Technologies team is seeking a senior technology professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to apply and hone their architecture & technical leadership skills as the Enterprise Architecture Operations Manager. This role exists as an integral member of the IT Enterprise Architecture team and facilitates the Enterprise IT Architecture Council meetings, under general direction from the Chief Enterprise Architect. In this capacity, you will be responsible for managing the overall IT technology standards portfolio, including the standards taxonomy, processes, systems, and team structures involved in the day to day operations. This includes oversight and support of the Technology Architecture Groups (TAGs) that are comprised of 75+ subject matter experts from across the enterprise to ensure we have relevant and contemporary solutions to deliver key technical and business capabilities. This role plays an integral part in managing the overall health, resiliency, and technical debt reduction across our technology and application portfolios. You will also be responsible for the primary system of record used to manage the technology portfolios and work closely with the IT support teams on maintenance and enhancements as needed.
  • Maintain required governance artifacts, including processes, procedures, & policies
  • Manage architecture council meeting logistics, including agendas, attendance, meeting minutes, and document repositories
  • Maintain awareness of technology and emerging trends and support emerging technology leads with technology insertion
  • Serve as primary focal point and expert for the enterprise architecture platform
  • Represent the Technology Architecture Groups (TAG) at architecture council
  • Provide leadership and support of Technology Architecture Groups (TAGs)
    • Define best practices and guidelines
    • Define and manage IT Technology Portfolio taxonomy in partnership with team leads
    • Provide guidance to ensure consistent behavior and decision making criteria is applied
    • Prepare and publish monthly TAG reports
    • Define, monitor and publish key performance indicators
    • Drive complexity reduction
    • Review and disposition technology standards.
    • Manage exception process (waivers).
    • Determine impact and usage guidelines for standards.
    • Rationalize as well as socialize a common set of standard and products that meets the needs of the entire enterprise.
    • Monitor and manage product lifecycles and make recommendations to align with current strategy and reference models.
    • Identify domain specific opportunities and Emerging Technology.
    • Ensure security reviews are completed.
    • Disposition products per the defined lifecycles.
    • Reassess the need for an existing standard if many waiver requests have been submitted for a particular capability.
    • Periodically review products approved as waivers to determine if further need exists.
  • This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Professional experience in information technology and enterprise or systems architecture

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Experience with the Troux/Planview technologies
  • Experience managing enterprise architecture practice
  • Demonstrated experience leading indirect (matrixed) teams across multiple functions and business segments in a global enterprise
  • Experience in strategic planning and translating strategic plans into action
  • Experience with industry consulting groups and councils
