National Grid is hiring an Analyst, Customer Energy Management to work in our Customer organization in Waltham, MA.
The Analyst, Customer Energy Management provides leadership to achieve alignment of internal, regulatory, and stakeholder priorities while maintaining a focus on meeting customer needs and expectations for energy efficiency, demand response, beneficial electrification and other clean energy solutions. Apply critical thinking and an understanding of both broad and detailed views to design a cost-effective portfolio of energy management solutions that are innovative, holistic, and accessible for all customers. In contributing to team delivery of energy and cost savings for customers, the Analyst will focus on efforts to optimize product offerings in support of achieving regulatory targets, shareholder incentives.
Develops an understanding of customer needs and priorities, including differences that may exist among segments of customers. Applies critical thinking through insight gained via customer experiences, research, analysis, and best practices to creatively design solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Actively positions future integrated energy services linked to energy efficiency programs and services to support National Grid’s achievement of energy efficiency targets, demand management and climate change objectives throughout the company to advance National Grid’s position as a leader in these fields.
Develops an expertise in residential and/or commercial customer energy savings essentials such as building science, technologies, markets, and policies to make informed, authoritative recommendations regarding the energy solutions. Evaluates key themes and options through the analysis of various programmatic and technology-based alternatives to identify how different scenarios may impact energy efficiency program results and to develop state energy policies.
Partners with several internal teams and vendor partners on a day-to-day basis to design and evolve customer energy management solutions. Participate on process excellence teams and continuously improve processes for customers and colleagues.
Collaborates with stakeholders, including advisory councils and their consultants, regulators, local governments, customer groups, environmental organizations, other utilities and program administrators, local contractors and vendor networks.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates and processes.
Supports the optimization of product and service development to support regulatory requirements, meet compliance obligations, and achieve success by creating value for customers and driving improved financial outcomes for National Grid.
Bachelor's degree in a business, social science, or engineering related area and 3+ years of related experience. Advanced degree/credits are preferred.
Knowledge of the electric and gas industry; energy efficiency program planning, design, implementation and evaluation, local and national energy policy.
3+ years of in one or more of the following fields related to energy efficiency: evaluation, policy, economics, engineering, sustainable program management or customer delivery.
Knowledge of relevant industry practices, science and policies.
Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong oral and written communications skills.
