Part of Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems business, S3 providescapabilities that enable critical tasks---from target identification, aircraftnavigation, and target engagement.

The GPS & Navigation Systems (GNS) product line is responsible forproviding U.S. and coalition forces with accurate GPS navigation capability tosuccessfully achieve their missions—free of disruption and jamming. GNSsolutions equip manned aircraft, unmanned systems, precision weapons, andground systems specializing.

These products include anti-jam systems, integrated GPS/INS navigators, highperformance Selective Availability Anti-Spoof Module (SAASM) receivers, andMilitary Code (M-Code) receivers.

#Guiding the mission

Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) has an immediate opportunity for aSystems Engineer working with GPS and navigation to support all ranges ofproduct development, including system requirements, architecture, system designand development, system integration and test, and production. Individual willbe working on Hardware, Software, and Firmware development activitiesthroughout all phases (Design, develop, simulate, integrate, test, verifyhardware/software and maintenance and support). Develop and review systemengineering documentation per product phase.

Required Skills:

The candidate will:

  • Possess 6+ years of experience in a related engineering environment,
  • Have familiarity in sub system or systems architecting and system-of-systems definition.
  • Ability to analyze high level needs and systems concepts and represent them in engineering architectural models
  • Experience with commercial test equipment (e.g. DMM, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Logic Analyzer)
  • Experience leading small teams.
  • C/C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, Xilinx ISE
  • Experience running test and developing test procedure
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively present technical approaches and findings.
  • Must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with people within and external to the program.
  • Quick learner, Self-Starter and motivated
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with GPS receivers is desirable.
  • Experience of GPS/navigation system test methodology, requirements, and methods
  • Familiarity with requirements analysis tools (e.g., DOORS) and peer review products

Required Education: B. S. in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics,Physics

Desired Education: M.S. in Engineering
