Position Description: The C5AD Systems Engineer provides operational advisory support for integration and demonstration of Information Technology, in support of the Deputy Director, C4 and Cyber Integration (DDC5I) C5 Assessments Division (C5AD) mission.
Provide C4I System subject matter expertise advice to the customer.
Assist in the integration and assessment of emerging communications capability that may enhance the ability of deployed warfighters to accomplish their mission.
Perform technology research and identify new technologies that may be warfighter enablers.
Assist with the development of appropriate assessment methodologies, frameworks, and approaches to address project objectives.
Support laboratory-based technical testing and field deployed operational assessments.
Develop and execute C4I systems analysis plan, detailed test plans, and interim/final reports.
Provide customer with professional presentation of analysis data.
Occasionally travel in support of network events
Prior systems interoperability assessment experience
Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques.
Experience with wireless networks, radio frequency spectrum, and/or satellite communications.
Experience with DoD tactical operations.
Work Location: Joint Staff J6 C5 Assessments Division, Suffolk, VA
5-8 years of related systems engineering experience.
Educational equivalency for this position is defined as at least five (5) years specific and related experience in the U.S. Military inclusive of the following (may be gained concurrently across several platforms):
Understanding of and experience with military service and joint C4I systems
System development or design experience in computers, communications, and wireless technology programs
Cost-benefit analysis to support decision making of alternative designs or architectures and risk assessment associated with approach
Experience in requirements development, product definition and design, C2 and test planning and execution
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance and be eligible for Top Secret
Must be a U.S. citizen
