Description

SAIC is has a career opportunity for a Technical Manager in support of future NASA operations at NASA AMES. This position is contingent upon contract award.

 

SAIC is seeking senior leaders/managers to support programs out of NASA’s Ames Research Center (ARC), located at Moffett Field, California. The selected candidate(s) will provide leadership to various technical teams supporting ARC on multiple ongoing missions and in the development of technical capabilities and scientific experimental applications through all phases of mission and project lifecycles.

 

The candidate(s) must demonstrate a full understanding of the interaction of technical, programmatic, schedule, and cost issues. The candidate(s) must have the ability to analyze and work through complex engineering and scientific programs/projects, demonstrated experience in forming/leading integrated, cross-functional teams to perform multi-disciplinary projects to meet customer requirements and timelines, and ability to lead/motivate a diverse group of professional engineers, scientists, and technical staff.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

The position requires experience in the multidisciplinary areas of:

  • Crewed and non- crewed suborbital and space missions
  • Aeronautics, biosciences, satellite, or space science research and technology development efforts
  • Biosciences research and development efforts
  • Small satellite missions
  • Collaborative and distributed science programs

The candidate(s) must have a a Bachelor's degree in related field (Physics, Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Astrobiology, Life Sciences) from an accredited institution, plus a minimum of 15 years of experience in related fields with recent experience of current and future NASA programs/projects and familiarity with NASA and/or ARC processes and procedures. A Masters or PhD degree is highly desired.  Excellent communication skills to diverse senior Government officials is also strongly desired.
