Job Summary
 
The Engineering Technician III, Physical/Dimensional position is responsible for providing training and guidance for the repair, calibration and modifications of the wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized on the program. The incumbent will perform precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance and repair actions, and other functions as necessary in all areas of laboratory operations and assists in obtaining and maintaining, laboratory QA accreditation.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
  • Provide technical and procedural advice and guidance to KAF personnel and other GOK personnel concerning metrology related matters such as the repair, calibration or modification of precision measurement equipment, the conduct of laboratory operations and the resolution of customer measurement problems.
  • Provides in-depth technical expertise in one or more of the following disciplinary categories and can provide OJT or formal classroom training as required
  • Perform precision measurements, calibrations, modifications, maintenance and repair actions within the guidelines of the KAF, utilizing approved NAVAIR Instrument Calibration procedures equipment manuals or approved scientific/metrology processes within either a calibration laboratory environment or on-site at KAF customer locations.
  • Provide technical and procedural advice and guidance to KAF personnel and other GOK personnel concerning metrology related matters such as the repair, calibration or modification of a wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment, automated systems, general purpose test equipment, and special purpose test equipment.
  • Provide training and support for repair, calibration, modification of the wide variety of complex precision measurement equipment utilized by the Government of Kuwait (GOK).
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise via On-the-Job-Training and in formal classroom settings.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the DynCorp Program Manager or designated representative
Knowledge & Skills
  • Background working with technical and procedural advice and guidance concerning metrology related matters such as the repair, calibration or modification of precision measurement equipment.
  • Can provide OJT or formal classroom training as required.
  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of algebra, physics and operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating physical/dimensional precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards.
  • Be able to establish and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Experience & Education

  • Completed an Associate‚Äôs degree in relevant mechanical discipline from an accredited school and have ten (10)   years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating physical/dimensional precision measurement equipment and calibration laboratory reference standards with a working knowledge of the basic concepts of electronics and science. This knowledge shall include basic electricity, electronics, circuit theory, digital logic, algebra, and physics. OR
  • Completion of a U.S. military precision measurement and calibration program, a precision measurement and calibration school at an accredited school, or within a specialized calibration firm, AND
  • Twelve (12) years of work experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating physical/dimensional IM&TE.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Some work outside with temperatures reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • 80/20 Office & Outside Environments.
  • Lift Pull of 20lbs, frequent lifting and stooping and standing as needed.
