Business Development Manager, Simulation & Training, US Navy or USAF

The Business Development Manager (BDM) develops knowledge of customers, understanding of competitors, and an awareness of the effects of market dynamics within the assigned market segment of Simulation & Training. The BDM manages resources to create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities outside of the US Army marketspace. The BDM leads cross-functional business teams to develop strategies and implement actions that culminate in a pipeline of qualified opportunities where Intelligence, Information and Services is positioned to win. The BDM will generate a minimum of $100M in annual bookings with measurable growth over 5 years. The BDM reports directly to the Global Training Solutions Business Development Executive (BDE). This position will be based in Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a prioritized pipeline of opportunities valued at least four to five times the revenue of the business unit
  • Create and implement strategies and actions within the GTS Mission Area that create, identify, develop and qualify profitable new business opportunities that grow the IIS business
  • Develop customer, competitor, and market understanding for the market sub-segment, Maintenance, Logistics and Operations
  • Develop and maintain customer understanding and relationships
  • Identify and develop relationships with strategic teaming partners
  • Work with other Raytheon leaders in developing new business and/or expanding into new markets
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies, plans, and actions from analyzing market, customer, and competitor data
  • Work closely with capture managers to provide customer knowledge and strategic support for capture and proposal process
  • Capture key customer and competitive knowledge and share it across the organization
  • Conduct internal and external customer briefings including Raytheon IPDS Gate Reviews
  • Position will require 30 to 50% domestic and international travel

Required Skills, Experience and Education
  • Significant experience working with US Navy and / or US Air Force in training and simulation markets
  • 8 years related work experience with majority related to marketing management, business management or business development
  • Record of significant business growth
  • Record of identifying, creating, developing, qualifying, and winning new business opportunities
  • Strong mix of commercial, defense, and military experience in the defense logistics domain
  • Leadership in creating and developing teams in a complex environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills-oral, written, listening
  • Initiative, high energy, and passion for developing new business
  • Ability to effectively communicate with military customers from all the services to include experience working with Foreign Militaries
  • Experience working with DOD-related government customers
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience related to US DOD Training and / or Simulation
  • Existing Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain

Desired Skills and Experience
  • Familiarity with Raytheon processes
  • Raytheon PM Certification
  • Raytheon Capture Certification
  • Record of successful business capture in non-US markets
