Job Description:

SAIC is seeking a motivated business analyst to analyze business and technical processes to help define data conversion and migration requirements and tasks for a learning management system tool replacement project. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between customers and technical staff to define requirements and business cases, develop technical specifications, and configure and test the new tool and processes. Other activities may include:

  • Evaluate customer processes, issues, and needs to facilitate the definition of technical system requirements

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary personnel, including center management, cross-functional process members, line organizations, and external contractors to determine customer's needs

  • Configure solutions in commercial software ensuring operational requirements are met

  • Resolve issues for customers

  • Plan, coordinate and execute unit, functional, integration or acceptance testing to ensure systems meet business requirements

  • Create documentation and provide training to ensure customer proficiency in support of new tool



Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or relevant discipline or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a business analyst supporting the design, analysis, configuration, testing, and operations and maintenance of software solutions

  • Experience eliciting and documenting business and system requirements

  • Experience writing and executing user acceptance tests.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to interact with business customers and project teams

  • Ability to follow prescribed software engineering lifecycle processes

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE L security clearance 


Desired Skills

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or relevant discipline

  • Experience with customer service

  • Technical understanding of software architecture

  • Experience designing, analyzing, configuring, testing, or supporting software solutions using COTS applications

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies

  • Strong teamwork skills and effective interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
