The North Texas Operations Organization is looking for an Operations Program Manager to support the Airborne Processors (ABP) Product Line Depot and Production programs. This position is responsible for day to day execution of depot and production retrofit programs. Duties include management of cost, schedule and execution of assigned programs. The position requires regular interface with our internal functional counterparts (Program Management, Contracts, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Engineering) plus regular interfacing with our customer and internal manufacturing sites. The success of these programs is critical to our business growth projections. In addition to managing assigned programs within the ABP family, the successful candidate will be expected to assist with various proposal activities in support of future pursuits.

The Operations manager is responsible for supporting PMO team in the development and implementation of program plans, processes, metrics and tools to ensure successful program execution. This person will be responsible for coordination of program control activities across multiple functions and sites to maximize consistency and implementation of best practices.

Job responsibilities:

  • Management and coordination of manufacturing resources to support program requirements
  • Serve as primary interface across all required Operations value streams from factory to program and to customer
  • Lead multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on six sigma, lean practices and other analytical improvement methods and tools
  • Support internal and external customer reviews
  • Execution of Operations Integrated program development process tasks
  • Active participation in business pursuit and capture, including Basis of Estimates (BOE) submittals leading to contract awards
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities to monitor manufacturing and operations costs and support earned value management for assigned programs
  • Ensure operational risks are identified, contained, and managed throughout each phase of business pursuit and program execution
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with program management, cross-functional program leadership, suppliers, customers and government representatives.


Required skills:
  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in manufacturing, operations, production control or related experience
  • EVMS certification
  • CAM experience
  • Experience with planning and executing operations in a cross-functional team environment
  • Must have demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong investigation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with customer to resolve schedule and technical issues
  • Strong analytical skills: the ability to use sound judgment to comprehend multiple variables to solve problems, improve processes and to accurately forecast future activities
  • Ability to function well in a high pressure multi-tasking environment
  • Experience tracking and reporting metrics
  • Experience developing and managing master phasing schedules/MRP planning
  • Strong knowledge of SAP software suite – PRISM, APEX
  • Understand shop load forecasting as related to resource alignment
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to interface with all levels of management
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of the following reporting tools - SAP’s Business Warehouse (BW), Kinaxis
  • Experience in both depot repair management and sustainment process in addition to production experience
  • PRISM EV experience
  • Proposal experience

Required education:
  • Bachelor degree in Manufacturing Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management or a related discipline
