The Health Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist supports a government agency in Washington DC by designing monitoring protocols and instruments; conducting on-site monitoring of grantees sites; and assessing grantee compliance and program performance.

 

Duties include:

  • Designs monitoring instruments that assess program performance and outcomes
  • Conducts site visits to monitor compliance with programmatic grant requirements and to collect data on programmatic outcomes
  • Carries out a wide range of data collection activities on-site, including:
    • Individual or group interviews with grantee staff, external stakeholders, and program participants about program administration, operations, quality of services, and program outcomes
    • Review of administrative program data, such as program files, to ensure compliance with grant requirements and policies and procedures
  • Provides an in-depth analysis and assessment of findings via verbal summary and written report within ten calendar days of the monitoring visit
  • Identifies successful and innovative program implementation/administration processes/products, and any technical assistance needs
  • Provides notes/documents/records of monitoring trip
  • Participates in meetings as required

The position will be based in Washington DC. Long-distance travel within the US is required, and will be reimbursed per Federal travel regulations.

Qualifications:

At least 10 years of experience including:

  • 5+ years as a clinical health provider
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Expertise working with MS Office suite of tools
  • Experience in public health

Education:

Degree in a clinical health field required (BSN, NP, PA, MD/DO, etc.)

Master of Public Health (MPH) degree preferred
