We are seeking a Software Test Lead/Engineer to work under the direction of the Cross Functional Test Delivery Manager to supervise, manage and motivate team members on a daily basis.  As a team leader, candidate will be the contact point for all assigned team members, so communication skills should be excellent. Candidate should be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.  

Testing duties include develop test plans based upon system requirements, design tests, perform manual system testing in accordance with approved test plans, and perform defect tracking and reporting. Selected candidate will analyze requirements to determine test strategy and estimated level of effort, then create, review and execute test cases that ensure system software performs according to documented business requirements, business rules, and technical specifications. This may also include the generation of test data for regression test suites, creation, review, execution and maintenance of regression test suites. Candidate to be responsible for reporting and tracking problems by providing reproducible test cases and working with other test team members to close problem reports.

Education and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of experience with functional and technical testing, as well as thorough understanding of fundamental testing concepts and processes. Four additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience leading test teams on larger releases and projects

  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor

  • Good PC skills, especially MS Excel

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Organizational and time-management skills

  • Decision-making skills

  • General technical IT skills, with knowledge of common industry practices

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong logic and analytical skills

  • Organized and detailed documentation skills

  • Strong work ethic with a focus on quality, results and customer satisfaction

  • Experience with SQL or other scripting languages preferred

  • Experience with HP testing suite of products (Quality Center, QTP, etc.) preferred

  • Experience working in OmniSuite of applications, or 401K industry-specific applications desirable

  • Understanding of current software testing methodologies including risk- based, boundary, black box and white box testing.

  • Team player with strong leadership skills.

  • Problem escalation/corrective action analysis and recommendations.

  • Knowledge and experience in the Traditional SDLC and Agile (Scrum) methodologies.

  • Clear verbal and effective documentation skills.

  • Ability to communicate technical issues at a level that is easily comprehensible to the audience.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and within defined processes.

  • Ability to make recommendations for changes and improvements to tools and processes.
