Raytheon Intelligence and Information Services (IIS) – Cyber Security & Special Missions (CSM) – Raytheon Foreground Security (RFS) has an immediate opening for a Cyber Security Engineer. The successful candidate will provide engineering support for VSOC and client tools.

*This position will be located in the Dulles, VA area.


  • Assist tool configuration changes of firewall, SIEM and other security tools
  • Assist in daily maintenance tasks, health checks, and upgrades
  • Create and maintain procedural documentation
  • Tune SIEM and logging infrastructure
  • Conduct configuration audits
  • Perform light-to-moderate automation tasks
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology and trends.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of two years of network, security and systems experience
  • Experience with one or more security tools/technologies: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Data Loss Prevention, Endpoint Security, Encryption, SIEM, cloud technologies, etc.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Well versed in operating systems such as Windows and Linux as well as Active Directory
  • High degree of initiative and low requirement for supervision.
  • Foundational technology certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+ , CCNA, ITIL

Desired Skills:

  • SIEM, Firewall, IDS/IPS administration experience
  • Scripting experience
  • Knowledge and experience with regular expressions

Desired Certifications:

  • Security+, Network+, A+, CCNA, CCNP, CCSA, CCSE, GIAC, Splunk Power User
Required Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of related experience. Additional experience can be used in lieu of education.
