This role will form an integral part of KBR's Design & Construct project delivery team, and is an excellent opportunity for career development within a multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy.
In support of our newly established growth strategy, our Brisbane team is seeking the services of a Principal Civil Engineer with technical design delivery experience, who is looking to progress in a Discipline Manager position.
The role is accountable for the
leadership, health, and safety, strategic planning and execution, day to day
operational management and development of the Civil Design & Construct team and will be responsible for
in relevant external
forums and business development activities.
What you will be
Variety is the key
component of this role. Whilst primarily focused on our Civil Roads area and
‘Design and Construct’ (D&C) TMR projects you could be involved in other
parts of the business and work sharing with other states.
Reporting to the
Operations Manager, Engineering & Construction – Australia (OM), your scope will include, but not be limited to:
Form and nurture industry/market relationships to maximise repeat
business from existing clients
Provide technical expertise, mentoring and support to the civil/road
Supervise project staff and review deliverables to ensure compliance
with technical and quality assurance standards
Work independently to complete the planning, design and execution of
projects that meet or exceed client expectations
Assist and support the development of new business opportunities,
including responsibility for preparation of project proposals.
Work with D&C contractors providing technical input into major bids
Work with joint venture (JV) partners and D&C contractors delivering
quality technical/engineering outcomes for projects
Mentoring and developing less experienced engineers
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent
A minimum of 15 years relevant experience in delivering major
infrastructure road projects (Design Manager role/s inclusive).
RPEQ, CPEng desirable
A strong technical design ability coupled with solid experience in a
Demonstrated understanding of TMR’s requirements and a track record
delivering design to their standards
Working knowledge of commercial arrangements and relationships
Strong practical knowledge of and commitment to health and safety
Previous experience in team management
