SAIC is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to support our LITES II team at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA.


Position Requirements: 

  • Assist in evaluating design of new and existing systems to judge their functionality, effectiveness, reliability, performance, usage, maintainability and cost of ownership

  • Interface with business users and key stakeholders to evaluate business processes and develop functional and technical system requirements

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business users, project managers and other stakeholders to achieve required solutions

  • Manage user requirements and design, develop and test software to meet the requirements

  • Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites

  • Test software development methodology in an agile environment

  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms

  • Serve as the ServiceNow platform lead and support various application development initiatives - Provide recommendations for continuous improvement - Work alongside team members to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

  • Provide regular reporting to Project/Task Managers

  • Excellent at verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-driven will minimal supervision while demonstrating initiative and vision

  • Proficient in Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Angular

  • Maintain proficiency in software as a service (SaaS) platforms, i.e., ServiceNow


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

  • 2+ years experience using source Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, Angular

  • Strong DevOps focus and experience building and deploying infrastructure with cloud deployment technologies

  • Experience with test- driven development

  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies

  • Experience interfacing with customers to develop and document system requirements

  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with AJAX, Bootstrap

  • Experience in utilizing software version control system (ie. GIT)

  • Experience building front end graphical user interface design

  • Experience using JIRA to track bugs/issues

  • Experience with ServiceNow


Clearance Requirement:

  • Must be able to obtain Public Trust security clearance
