Position Summary

The Accounting Manager’s function is to plan, establish, coordinate, and administer the policies, systems and procedures necessary to meet the accounting, reporting, and control requirements of management, shareholders, governments, and other parties in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and Company policy at the Area/Division/District level. Supervises most activities in the Fixed Asset Functional area. Responsible for projections, capex reporting, depreciation and fixed asset related balance sheet accounts. Responsible for preparing asset registers and related reports

Key Accountabilities

  • Manages and directs preparation of the monthly Area/Division financial statements.
  • Manages and directs preparation of monthly Area/Division management reports.
  • Assists Sr. VP with business modeling as it relates to capital projects and/or market expansion within Area.
  • Assists in preparation of annual budget, as well as periodic forecast updates.
  • Reviews and responds to all audit requests (as required).
  • Ensures the Company's financial policies and procedures are being adhered to within the Area.
  • Reviews, implements, and monitors compliance with joint ventures and other agreements.
  • Monitors the Area’s systems of internal control and ensures compliance.
  • Performs financial analysis to ensure financial results are complete and reasonable.
  • Ensures that the accounting personnel throughout the Area are properly qualified and properly trained on Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Continued development and support of direct reports
  • Responsible for all Fixed Asset related accounts

  • All financial reporting related to Fixed Assets

  • Depreciation Variance analysis

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing/internal control standards.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Assets and Capital Spending

  • Knowledge of and ability to control the systems used to maintain and control the records required by large corporations.
  • Ability to review financial statements and other financial data and recognize problems and inaccuracies.
  • Ability to translate the Company's financial data into recommendations to management that could affect cost savings, improve deployment of assets or generate financial reports that would enhance management's ability to monitor, control and plan operations of the Company.

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in accounting software / ERP systems with specific SAP financial Module.
  • Minimum of 5 + years of experience in an accounting and management related role.
  • At least 3 years experience in fixed assets.
