The Accountant SR will be responsible for providing a variety of functions for the San Angelo repair facility including, but not limited to partnering with facility management to provide financial support for decision making, month-end close reporting and analytics, manage maintenance project accounting and oversee financial aspects of inventory in order to meet requirements in a timely and accurate manner as required by the needs of the Company.
As the accounting partner for the San Angelo facility, provides information to the facility management team
Primary responsibility is to ensure accurate financial results according to monthly close timelines.
Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures specific to project accounting.
Work with Controller to analyze monthly financial results.
Prepare monthly journal entries, financial schedules and account reconciliations.
Monitor project costs vs. project budget and settlement errors to ensure all relevant costs are assigned to projects accurately and timely.
Confirm project status as required by Corporate to ensure timely and complete project close-outs.
Monitor maintenance and inventory transfer financial transactions related to San Angelo facility.
Validation of cost accounting and margin data related to materials, labor and overhead activity.
Assist with financial and tax audits.
Evaluate, recommend and implement improvements to business processes that promote efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy of financial data and/or improve the control environment.
Monitor inventory ensuring consumption, transfers are properly recorded, and aging is communicated to management
Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as may be required by immediate supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have strong experience with SAP, specifically with Project Systems
Strong understanding of GAAP and project accounting.
Strong knowledge of Inventory management
Ability to work with various levels within the organization
Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities
Highly detail oriented and organized in work.
Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications – Advanced Excel skills.
Must be able to work beyond the normal 8 to 5, Monday through Friday work schedule to meet assignment deadlines.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger/Financial Reporting Accounting.
Previous experience in Accounting with a manufacturer, assembly plant or similar industry
