Description

SAIC is looking for Database Architect to join the team supporting our customer we have partnered with, AAR Corp., to support Department Of State Air Wing mission in Melbourne / Palm Bay, Fl. 

 

Job Description:


The position will provide database and software development leadership as part of a core high performing team defining, implementing, and demonstrating modern flexible software architectures including cloud computing and cybersecurity. Identifies the database requirements for each solution component; ensures that the selected systems can interoperate with other systems components at the database level; identifies database systems optimization approaches; supports the ETL team in the development of scripts, tools, and documentation of the ETL process.  Database Architecture and Engineering expert with strong knowledge of Data Management, architectures, solutions, trends, and frameworks, highly experienced and skilled to troubleshoot issues, validate solutions, recommend and implement architectural improvements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage, Develop, and Refine Database Requirements

  • Design and optimize data architectures (logical and physical)

  • Design, modify, enhance database systems

  • Optimize database performance and throughput

  • Understand DoD Enterprise systems

  • Estimate, plan, and manage collaborative technical teams

  • Evaluate, plan, and manage sustainment and maintenance, in Phase 2, of database systems

  • Support proposal development, cost estimating, Basis of Estimates and schedule 

Qualifications

Required Experience 
  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. HS Diploma or Equivalent with an additional 4+ years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

  • 5 years of relevant experience in database systems.

  • Ability to successfully obtain adjudication for a Moderate Risk Public Trust investigation

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential and highly valued in this role.

 

Desired Experience
  • Support proposal development, cost estimating, Basis of Estimates and schedule

  • Database Design, Structure, Technology, and Market

  • Data Architectures (logical and physical)

  • Experience with Java, C, and / or C++

  • Experienced with agile development methods.

  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements

  • Experienced reviewing and assessing existing enterprise data-driven applications, to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment.

  • Highly-skilled at analyzing a large, complex system to determine optimal design performance to eliminate bottlenecks, application bugs, and opportunities to improve efficiency.

  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

 

Clearance Requirement
  • Must be able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT)
