Description

SAIC has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Engineer to support Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) training solutions for Army Aviation UAS Simulation and Training Products at the Joint Technology Center/Systems Integration Laboratory (JSIL) on Redstone Arsenal.

 

This role is as a Systems Engineer/product owner for UAS Multiple Unified Simulation Environment (MUSE) software products. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The candidate will be required to support collaboration with the customer to define, capture, derive, and prioritize applicable requirements for UAS training solutions.  The requirements will be de-composed to a software/hardware level for implementation following development process. The candidate will also need a solid depth and breadth understanding of engineering processes to help drive the definition, maintenance, synchronization, and monitoring of processes to include: architecture definition, requirements management, formal technical reviews, artifact reviews, configuration management, schedule management.  The candidate will also support integration, test, documentation, and delivery of the UAS training solutions. 

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS Degree and 5+ years of related Systems Engineering Processes (Architecture, Interfaces, Requirements Management, Technical Reviews, Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, Six Sigma, CMMI, Agile)
  • Experience with Linux and Windows operating environments
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio to deliver software products to internal and external customers using configuration management best practices.
  • Familiar with production of engineering artifacts for review such as ICDs, VDDs, SVDs, Test Reports, etc
  • Familiar with unmanned systems platforms
  • Capable to work in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment with multiple contractors and teaming partners and must be self-motivated, reliable, dependable, flexible, and also have excellent interpersonal and verbal/written/presentation communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development, DEVOPS, Program Management Planning, Earned Value Management and Six Sigma principles
  • UAS experience
