As a Systems Engineer you will design specialized technical testing to demonstrate system performance to our customers, typically including live fire testing in the field. MCVC in White Sands, NM is searching for a qualified Engineer to join the Sensors & BMC3I team for the caretaker of the THAAD Mission Operation Center/Mission Support Center (MOC/MSC).
The MOC/MSC caretaker will represent SNT interests at WSMR
Assisting with range coordination in preparation for SICOs
Assisting with coordination and oversight of deployment transportation to and from Biggs Airfield (trucks, cranes, forklifts, dunnage, etc.)
Assisting with other SNT assets located at WSMR such as the fuel pods
Work any other issues as needed (THAAD test prep, WSMR site surveys, etc.)
Travel up to 80% to domestic and international remote locations to support program requirements.
Work in remote and hazardous locations exposed to energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.
Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) degree from a two or four year institution of higher learning.
Network and System Integration expertise
Maintaining the computer and network systems, including keeping the systems IAVA compliant
Refreshing the computer and network systems as required
Maintain the shelters, ISU-90s and ECUs
Including repairs, corrosion mitigation, and periodic maintenance (shelter painting, ECU servicing, etc.)
The ability to deploy to all missions with exceptions
Be responsible for the MOC/MSC setup and teardown before and after each mission
Support setup and teardown for dual deployments should the timeline be supportable
Maintain the MOC/MSC throughout the mission
The ability to work closely with the Mission Capability Verification Center (MCVC) for support
Ability to obtain a Security A+ certification within six months after hiring date
Required: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.? Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience using design, debug, and test hardware/software.
Knowledge of analog/digital hardware design.
Excellent teaming skills, ability to multi-task, ability to work under stress, able to support across multiple disciplines, and flexible to travel to support the radar.
Note: This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary Grade G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
