This is a rare opportunity to work closely alongside our Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) partners to field a number of future strategic systems that the nation urgently needs.
The candidate will perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments related to hardware assembly processes and testing. Assignments will include technical evaluation and support of manufacturing issues/concerns. Candidate will participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of M&P, prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports. The candidate will coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
Ability to obtain a security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Physics, Material Sciences and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related background or field of study.
Knowledge of Materials and Processes for development, design, application and production.
Experience reviewing engineering drawings or blueprints.
Familiar with a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines such as metals, composites, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations.
Strong writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience working on aerospace products.
Previous failure analysis/resolution experience.
Experience leading technical problem investigations and mentoring others on the team.
Ability to multi-task, handle shifting priorities and timeline pressure to meet project deadlines.
A well organized, self-starter able to take direction, work effectively independently or in a team environment.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
Able to work well virtually with other sites.
