Production Planning Technician

The Raytheon Precision Manufacturing (RPM) Planning and Program Management organization provides production planning and project management support for the fabrication of metal components for Raytheon programs. Team members utilize project management methodologies, tools and techniques to develop delivery schedules and track product flow in support of customer cost, quality and schedule commitments.

Job Description:
Partners with the Manufacturing Engineer in the day to day management of Raytheon Precision Manufacturing programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineer to develop, execute and monitor MRP buy/build plan to meet customer delivery requirements while effectively utilizing RPM resources
  • Liaison with shop resources, customers, supply chain personnel, quality assurance engineers, producibility engineers, manufacturing planning personnel and site leadership to meet production and quality requirements
  • Interface with manufacturing engineer, customers, quality engineers, program engineers, program managers, site leadership and shop personnel to resolve production and/or quality issues to insure quality product is delivered on schedule.
  • Prepare data for, attend, and present data at production status meetings including but not limited to the daily CFM meeting, production reviews, etc.
  • Understand and assist the program manufacturing engineer in maintaining and meeting budget requirements on assigned programs
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills:
  • 4 years of related work experience
  • Understanding of MRP systems and principles
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self starter
  • Work experience in a teaming environment/ability to work well on a team
  • Ability to work extended hours as required to support customer/management demands

Desired Skills:
  • 6 years of related work experience
  • Experience in a metal fabrication, machine shop, or other manufacturing environment
  • Experience in project planning and execution, including determining Bill of Material, ordering material, planning, releasing and monitoring work build
  • Experience using SAP or similar planning system
  • Ability to read and interpret part drawings (including GD&T)
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a secret security clearance

Required Education: HS Diploma or equivalent

This position can be a Production Support Associate Sr or Production Support Specialist based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements for this position.
