The Miniature Air Launched Decoy (MALD) Program is a medium volume production and development program with growth potential. The Quality Manager is responsible for program compliance to the RMS Quality Management System (QMS) and is the Quality & Mission Assurance (Q&MA) representative on the Program and Production Leadership Team, setting and executing strategy to accomplish Business, Program and Q&MA Goals. This position is responsible for performance and mentoring/career development of the Program Quality Engineering staff. Responsible for defect reduction, continuous product and process quality improvement in partnership with software, factory, and supplier quality engineering, as well as teaming with functional counterparts and customer representatives. Reports to the AWS Product Line Quality Director.


Required Skills:

  • 8 years of demonstrated professional experience; preferably including leading a technical or manufacturing team
  • Experience creating and managing support plans and schedules in a cross-functional environment
  • Understanding of how to drive Quality and Mission Assurance within a profit driven business based on practical experience
  • Experience with process improvement (e.g. Six Sigma), project management, and/or lean methodologies
  • Experience in managing employee relations issues within varying levels of the organization
  • Existing Secret DoD clearance
Desired Skills:
  • 10 years of demonstrated successful experience to include working within a Manufacturing Business with greater than 500 employees or previous related military experience
  • Ability to lead collaboratively with other managers in a results oriented environment to develop solutions for complex problems that will gain desired outcomes
  • Previous leadership position in a fast paced technical or manufacturing environment that included multiple working organizations; this would include extensive experience building strong cross-functional teams with proven results
  • Experience building relationships with Functional and Program Managers, and Quality Managers (or equivalents) to negotiate in difficult situations both internally and externally
  • Ability to understand the financial impact of decisions on the organization’s budget and the business/program
  • Experience in cross-functional management of quality, operations, engineering and supply chain
  • Experience in a factory environment including understanding the technical aspects of RMS Quality and Mission Assurance or similar operations
  • Understanding of RMS product structures and product technical details
  • Problem solving abilities that bridge production realities to financial commitments
  • Knowledge of existing RMS execution systems (PRISM)
  • The ability to effectively lead, present, and participate in meetings and status sessions
  • Experience coaching and developing direct reports
  • ASQ Certification
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology or Mathematics. Master's degree preferred.
