Job Description Summary
Responsible for daily processing and maintenance of basic accounting data related to the general ledger.
Job Description
May be responsible for one or more of the following:
• Process accounts payable and/or receivable invoices into the accounting system
• Prioritize and maintain organization of high volume workload
• Ensure monthly invoices/statements are mailed to tenants in a timely manner
• Prepare daily deposit tickets and arrange for deposits
• Create or assist with creating internal reports as needed
• Maintain basic knowledge of general ledger accounts with the ability to identify incorrect coding
• Set up filing system and maintain in an organized fashion
• Follow up on inquiries, issues, and outstanding invoices using effective communication
• Support mail services (incoming/outgoing mail, UPS deliveries, couriers)
• Prepare records for storage annually and as needed
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior experience with accounting or database software packages preferred
• Or any similar combination of education and experience
• Familiarity with and adherence to standard accounting principles and controls
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to use a 10-Key computer board
• Detail-oriented and thorough
• Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
• Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to work
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer
• Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type
• Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you
• Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing
• Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand
• Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays
