Job Description:
Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) is seeking a Principal Engineering Logistics Specialist to join our team in support of the US Air Force North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex - Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract (NISSC). The NISSC Program will provide accurate, timely, and unambiguous warning and attack assessment of Air, Missile, and Space threats with daily visibility of National Command Authority (NCA) leadership to include the POTUS.

NCMC-ITW/AA is comprised of Air, Missile, and Space Situational Awareness missions located at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson AFB, Offutt AFB, and Vandenberg AFB, and Forward User / Sensor Site locations worldwide.


As the Principal Engineering Logistics Specialist, duties include, but are not limited to: utilize Logistics Engineering expertise and knowledge with respect to product support design interface (i.e. reliability, maintainability, availability, etc), supportability engineering, and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software and hardware development teams and test personnel, identify logistics engineering impacts to ensure supportability considerations are appropriately allocated to systems and horizontally integrated across the development and sustainment teams, interface across multiple engineering disciplines with other systems engineering functions to ensure integration and continuity in the design, development, and sustainment processes, develop logistics design guidelines, plans, procedures, work instructions, tools, checklists, etc. to ensure conformance to logistics standards, and contribute to proposal efforts associated with managing / executing ILS elements and tasks. Additionally, the Logistics Engineer will support activities including operational concepts, trade studies, use case development, requirements definition and derivation, interface definition, and requirement validation and verification, identify design improvements by performing supportability analyses such as maintainability analysis, operator/maintainer task analysis, spares and repair parts analysis, life cycle cost analysis, level & source of repair analysis, maintainability analysis, manpower/personnel analysis, obsolescence planning, performance measure trade studies, business case analysis, supply support analysis, Remanence Security (RemSec) analysis, Disposition Plan & Deactivated Equipment List, represent logistics engineering interests by participating in and attending technical interchange meetings and review boards with team and other program personnel, review documents and resolve technical logistics engineering and integration issues related to supportability.

Position requires frequent interaction with customers, Government SETAs, and other internal Program organizations. Candidate is expected to collaborate with customers. The candidate must have ability to manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines. The candidate must be capable of identifying, schedule, and report status on discrete logistics tasks within an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

Required Skills:
Demonstrated experience in the execution and implementation of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements and design for sustainment concepts to effectively influence the design of system for supportability considerations including:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, coordinate, integrate, execute, and manage all logistics tasks and to analyze and resolve logistics problems relating to operational considerations.
  • Demonstrated skills to include analyzing engineering/systems management data, developing logistics plans and procedures, developing logistics management plans and guidelines.
  • Experience with AFPAM 63-128, AFI 63-107, AFI 63-1201 or similar logistics planning guidance.
  • Experience with MIL-HDBK-502, MIL-PRF-49506, MIL-STD-1369, MIL-STD-1388, Integrated Product Support Handbook or equivalent industry standards, practices, or methods.
  • Experience performing supportability analyses across the following areas: maintenance planning (i.e. level of repair, reliability centered maintenance), provisioning and sparing analysis, support and test equipment design, manpower and personnel interface (i.e. MANPRINT or equivalent), packaging, handling, storage, and transportability (PHST), affordability (i.e. life cycle cost analysis, CAIV trades), Remanence Security (RemSec) analysis, Disposition Plan & Deactivated Equipment Lists, obsolescence management planning and mitigation.
  • Experience interfacing with systems engineering and design activities in the following areas: reliability, availability, maintainability, testability, standardization, interoperability, safety, security, environmental impacts, legal, and warranty considerations.
  • Experience in defense life-cycle logistics support, to include logistics engineering management principles, practices, and processes.
  • Experience in requirements development/derivation/management.
  • Experience interfacing directly to customer and end users.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles, e.g., CPI, SPI, TCPI, etc.
  • 10 years of related work experience.

  • Experience in preparing Basis of Estimates (BOE) – BOE certified
Required Education (including Major):
B.S/B.A Degree in Technical discipline (preferred Logistics Engineering) and 8 years of directly related logistics engineering experience or Master's Degree in Technical discipline (preferred Logistics Engineering) and 4 years of directly related logistics engineering experience.
