Job Description Summary
C&W Services is looking for a Lead HVAC Technician to join our FM team at our client location in Markham, ON. The HVAC Technician is responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of building systems and process equipment, maintaining an intimate knowledge of such systems and identifying and resolving problems associated with each system consistent with recognized trade practices, industry standards, codes/jurisdictional authorities, and C&W Services guidelines/practices
Job Description
The following are a representation of the regular duties/responsibilities assigned to this position. Management also reserves the right to change or modify this position description from time to time to meet the needs of the building(s).
Assist Maintenance Manager with planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising, reviewing, and participating in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for HVAC and equipment maintenance.
Oversee and assist in Equipment Rebuilds, Builds and conceptual designs
Assist with establishing schedules and methods for providing HVAC maintenance services
Work with Maintenance Manager to identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff and allocate resources accordingly.
Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures
Make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies and procedures
Participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures
Work independently in finding, troubleshooting and repairing problems
Monitor work activities to make sure they comply with established practices and procedures
Assist with monitor and order control of supplies
Assist with preparing documents for equipment procurement.
Ability to provide hands on training as needed to maintenance techs
Assist with coordination of training in HVAC and Maintenance Technicians maintenance and safety methods, procedures and techniques.
Assist with the implementation of preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for facility and equipment.
Must be hands on and actively participate on the production floor while Overseeing employees
With QA, Safety and other departments as appropriate, assists in implementation of action plans in relation to health and safety and assures the highest levels of compliance.
Job Requirements:
HVAC License/Certification.
Gasfitter II (Class A or B ) or better
A strong background in HVAC system repairs and plumbing electro-mechanical equipment maintenance is desired.
Working knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
General computer knowledge and skills such as Microsoft Office and CMMS systems; Familiarity with Honeywell’s Enterprise Building Integrator building automation system would be an asset.
A solid safety record in past work history and training in safe work practices.
Direct contact with the customer requires experience in customer service.
