Position:  858-Aircraft System Security Engineer Type:  Full Time Location:  Dayton, Ohio

FTI is looking for a highly qualified and experienced acquisition professional to fill a critical Light Attack Aircraft (LAA) Program System Security Engineer at WPAFB, OH.    This individual will be responsible for providing support to the lead engineer.  They will provide expertise and inputs into the Program Protection Plan (PPP), cybersecurity strategy, and the Risk Management Framework Security Plan. 

 

The LAA System Security Engineer will serve as the domain expert for the program in providing leadership, guidance, and interpretation of DoD and AF directives and instructions related to weapon system cyber security, anti-tamper and program protection.  This position requires a coordination of activities between HQ Air Force Material Command, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, HQ Air Combat Command, HQ Air Force Special Operations Command, US Special Operations Command, OEM’s and other agencies. CONUS travel may be required in support of these activities. 

 

Job Duties Summary:

  • Uses expert knowledge and experience to advise, consult, and recommend solutions to protect client IT from cyber threats
  • Possesses knowledge of the future direction and trends associated with IT and is up to date with current associated threats
  • Experienced in designing and implementing protections for information architecture 
  • Provide inputs to client required Program Protection Plan (PPP) and Cybersecurity Strategy, and Risk Management Framework Security Plan
  • Provide inputs into the Risk Management Framework Security Plan
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field 
  • Minimum of 15years’ experience is required.
  • Master’s Degree  or post-graduate degree in a related acquisition field preferred
  • Knowledge of/experience with AFMAN 17-1402

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a U. S. Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance
  • Either demonstrated superior technical skills or exceptional management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Ability to:
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written),
  • Draft presentations, white papers, acquisition and funding documents
  • Conduct meetings with customers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Travel to CONUS locations to support program/project meetings and development activities
