National Grid is hiring in Waltham, MA.
National Grid outsources a significant portion of their construction and maintenance work plan. The Capital Delivery (CD) team delivers over $2 billion worth of large scale electric and gas projects annually.
Within CD, Contracts & Commercial delivers the contractor resources to perform the work while maximizing value and minimizing cost. The Contract Strategy team within it delivers the contractor resource pool and contract strategy for Complex & Non Complex Capital work to ensure the delivery of National Grid’s work plan on time and budget, and maximize value in bid events.
The Reporting Analyst is responsible for various projects and will support all disciplines within the Contract Strategy team. Identifies needs and develops reporting solutions, ensures systems are updated, and assists the team as a technical analytical expert.
· Develop and maintain work plan for contractors
· Maintain and enhance Access tool for contract management
· Own an SRM tool to track suppliers
· Assist team in research and reports
· Team PEx HUB owner
· Provide bid schedule reports
· Support the team as needed from a technical perspective
· Support Securing Resources team during minor and major weather events in New York & New England. Responsibilities could include procuring, processing, or tracking contractor crews. Storm support is required 365 days a year and may involve weekend and holiday work as needed.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, Management, Business Administration or equivalent experience required.
Proficiency – Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access
VBA for Excel and Access a plus
Analytical Skills – Creating different reports and analysis
Capable of converting a wish list of information into a functional, well designed automated repor
Public Speaking – Must be comfortable speaking in meetings and explain data
Stakeholder Management – Develop and maintain a relationship with all National Grid stakeholders. Individual should expect to check in with all stakeholders and periodically meet face to face with key players. Need to be comfortable working with others and directing them in order to get the information needed
Travel – travel will be rare. Some meetings will require trips between Waltham, Albany, Syracuse, Brooklyn and Long Island. Expected overnight travel should be for less than 5% of the time.
