The Hardware Quality Lead will serve as a key member of the SAS Factory Mission Assurance Team. This individual will be a high-performing individual who will lend their expertise and work experiences to challenging and complex assignments. This individual will be responsible for developing commonality across SAS Mission Assurance Factory processes. Provide quality engineering support and expertise to Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Be able to work at all levels of the organization and across the enterprise as the SAS Mission Assurance member supporting specialized initiatives such asSAS Counterfeit Part Mitigation team, SAS Global Substance (GS), and Mission Assurance Enterprise GS team ensuring each team meets their tactical and strategic objectives. Use and implement analytical tools and methods to complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses, and reporting, develop techniques and methods, support process improvements, complete special investigations and audits, and take preventative and corrective actions.

Further responsibilities include, providing education and knowledge on the use of quality tools in the administration of the Quality System. Apply quality engineering skills to develop and deploy effective and efficient methods for verifying and accepting processes and products, including the use of quantitative and qualitative tools such as DISCUS for First Article Inspections (FAI) and Tableau (trending RCAS, CoPQ analysis).
The Hardware Quality leader will lead quality and mission assurance organizational projects involving common process initiatives, new technologies, internal measurements and controls, business process reengineering, organizational change management, tool oversight, training and communications. The individual will need to become familiar with Raytheon and SAS processes but also integrate industry best practices through experience and research. Project completion will be work products with clear results or plans for implementation of new methods, tools or processes and monitoring by Quality Managers for organizational improvement. Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years related professional engineering and managerial experience
  • Minimum of 4 years as a Quality, Manufacturing or Engineering professional with hands on experience with electro/mechanical components and/or systems
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling and status artifacts
  • Experience with project management and risk and opportunity management
  • Experience with AS 9100 quality management systems, and experience in aerospace-related manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in Identify systemic performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, identify corrective solutions and implement closure plans
  • Experience with Six Sigma methodology and tools such as lean manufacturing, diagnostic, process optimization and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge and application of business acumen
  • Experience with strategic planning and execution
  • Experience with microelectronic fab, manufacturing and assembly
  • Experience with metrology, measurement tools and practices
  • Ability to write clear presentations and technical reports, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong organizational, collaborative and communication skills
  • Must be able to travel as required to support external customers and suppliers
  • Ability to obtain DoD security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Skills
  • Experience working with external suppliers and mechanical inspection techniques
  • Experience in supporting design and manufacturing processes and have the ability to work within a cross-functional team environment
  • Familiar with Industry 4.0, Digital Thread, Digital Twin, IoT, Additive Mfg, automation as they relate to Mission Assurance
  • Hands on use of statistical process controls for process monitoring, qualification and/or design feedback
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts such as DFMA, Input-output diagrams, and SPC
  • Ability to manage and develop balanced supplier relationships built on partnerships and required performance
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate and team with multiple internal functions and external organizations to provide best value solutions to our customers
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Security clearance
