Job Description
Raytheon is looking for individuals with a proven track record in RF and Microwave design to work with our team of experts within the Receiver and Exciter Hardware Design Group. You will be working with a talented team on the development of next generation Receiver Exciter technologies for Airborne Radars.

A successful candidate will be an experienced technical lead and possess the ability to work in a high octane environment and engage in the development of requirements, architecture, design, analysis, detailed trade studies, simulation and test of RF and Microwave circuits and Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs). The candidate must be experienced using CAD tools and have detailed experience using lab equipment.

Design and test experience in high frequency circuits ranging from baseband to millimeter wave is desired. Work experience in designing Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs), Microwave Integrated Circuits (MICs) and/or Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), Module and Unit level experience along with a broad understanding of Receiver Exciters and System’s level requirements is preferred, although a mixture of such experiences is acceptable.

Candidate should be able to work from requirements to finished product, assuring robust design of circuits and assemblies. They will be tasked to solve complex technical issues, design for next gen applications while ensuring those designs are robust and producible with trades associated with C-SWaP (Cost, Size, Weight and Power).

The candidate will work in collaboration with System’s engineering on the development of requirements, developing an architecture for the REX and Modules, conduct designs by trading various component selections including ADCs and DACs, Amplifiers, Mixers, Switches, and filters. They will design and conduct simulations in linear and EM simulators, develop schematics and layouts, conduct testing and integration, work with suppliers, and see the product through production phases.

The individual should be self-motivated and be prepared to work with a focused team with an innovative, yet schedule oriented mindset. They will be looked upon for pursuing IRAD projects but will also be sought after for driving low cost solutions for customer’s needs.

The candidate will be looked upon as a team leader and must have a proven track record leading and working well within multi-disciplined teams. They will have engagement with customers, vendors and outside suppliers.

Required Skills:

  • Must have at least 10 years of related technical experience in RF/Microwave circuits
  • Hands on experience in the design, analysis, development, bread?boarding, troubleshooting and testing of RF/Microwave circuits
  • Experience in software tools including: Keysight ADS, National Instruments AWR Microwave Office, Sonnet em, Ansys HFSS, AutoCAD or comparable
  • Experience in lab equipment including: Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and Power Meters
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience in system’s level software tools including Keysight Genesys or SystemVue
  • Experience working with Matlab
  • Publications and Patents
  • Understanding of Earned Value Metrics

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.

Desired Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
