The Failure Analysis section has a current opening for an experienced FIB operator to run the day to day jobs that need DBFIB processing for root cause analysis and materials identification in various applications. The position requires a dedicated operator to manage instrument maintenance and operation as well as analysis communicated to customers and engineers with detailed report. Responsibilities may include and are not limited to:
Experienced in the operation and maintenance of Strata 235 DBFIB with Oxford Aztec Analyzer.
Operate a DB Focused Ion Beam (FIB) to inspect, analyze, characterize and troubleshoot failing devices, materials stack up and or microstructural details.
Use a FIB to prepare samples and inspection with built-in low energy STEM detector.
Performs basic failure analysis of devices using the various FA lab tools.
Develops failure analysis reports in writing.
Must be technically proficient at the tools and techniques associated with component analysis.
Duties include the presentation of analysis results to Raytheon’s program personnel, component manufacturers, and customers.
Must be familiar and assertive dealing with service personnel that maintain equipment and PM Service.
Must present on the capability of instrument and the ability to provide meaningful results on various issues. Must manage instrument queue and schedule jobs to meet requirements and train backup operator.
Experience working within a team environment.
Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders
Experience with MS Office tool suite
Must be a US Citizen
At least 6 years’ experience working in a component-level analytical lab or an electrical test lab.
At least 6 years of experience associated with failure assessment, planning, and resolution.
At least 6 years in the engineering field.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or material science engineering and 4 years’ experience with DB FIB equipment and electronics or BA and 6 years’ related experience.

Have strong technical aptitude as shown by work experience (hands-on lab experience)
Be a hands on person with ability to work with production equipment
Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the electrical engineering fields and general knowledge of other related disciplines
Ability to demonstrate delivery quality and timely results
Self-motivated, proactive and able to multi-task.
Demonstrated leadership experience through prior accomplishments
