The Classified Solution Architect will work with Program Engagement Leads, Business Partner Leads and Program Execution to capture business needs, translate them into information systems capabilities, and develop solutions that enable the business. The Classified Solution Architect primarily works with representatives from the Program Execution organization to deliver solutions that enable programs to operate in closed environments and that enhance the productivity of our program and manufacturing environments. They work closely with the project team to fully understand the business needs and to develop a solution architecture that will meet those needs, while simultaneously leveraging existing components and capabilities within both SAS and the broader Global Business Services (GBS) IT organization. The solution architect works to reduce the environment complexity through a consistent use of enterprise and business standards and works to reduce solution costs through the creation, documentation and use of common solution frameworks and components. The solution architect is responsible for developing and documenting best practices in their area of expertise and frequently monitors the implementation teams to ensure a high quality solution is deployed. They work to refine the design and delivery processes, seeking to implement practices that maximize component reuse. Solution architects also work to provide design, development, delivery and maintenance tools and frameworks to enable the effective management and creation of solution artifacts and maintain a searchable library of these components. Finally, solution architects at the business work with their counterparts in other businesses and at the enterprise to maximize system reuse across the company and provide transparency in business operations.
