National Grid is hiring an Associate Engineer, for our Gas Maintenance and Construction department in Brooklyn, NY.
Job Purpose
To provide the required technical support to various gas business organizations, procurement, inventory management and technical learning and development for the gas distribution and transmission system materials, construction standards, work methods and learning development.
Key Accountabilities
Investigate system performance problems and with Engineering, develop system modifications as needed.
Interface with other company departments as well as external contractors and vendors in the performance of plant operations and maintenance.
Conduct engineering review, analyze the results and prepare recommendations for corrective actions.
Oversee company or contractor work force in the performance of plant modifications, maintenance and repairs.
Monitor all site operating and environmental conditions through regular inspections and review of logs.
Be “on call” on a regular scheduled basis during weekends and off hours to respond to plant contingencies.
Identification of pipeline risk and development of mitigation strategies.
Provide technical support to gas operations, gas process engineering, supply chain and learning and development organizations.
Communicate changes to the materials, standards and work methods to relevant individuals on site.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Concentration in academic studies in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Material Science)
Earned a cumulative GPA of 3
0 or higher
Official college transcript required for confirmation
