Provides in-depth technical support for troubleshooting networking issues that arise from a complex, multi-networked Cross-Doman solutions system. Has deep understanding of network device (router and switch) configuration from multiple vendors. Troubleshoots general networking issues arriving on the system, including at the workstation (endpoint) level.

The Network Operations Specialist will be an integral member of a multi-functional 10 person Help Desk team, responsible for supporting the customer's network requirements and mission needs. In time as operational needs increase, this position will support 16 hours/day (two 8 hour shifts), 5 days a week. There is an on call requirement to support the customer's mission needs when required. There is a possibility that the person filling this position may be asked to change between working first and second shifts when operational needs require ramping up to a full coverage of 16 hours.

General Responsibilities:


• Monitors security analytics
• Configures firewall rules and security policies
• Configures firewalls/security policies/ports/VLANs to allow Operator Terminals access to VPS as directed by the customer
• Serves as a SME for network operations
• Advises customers as required
• Deliver equipment to various sites
• Provide logistical support during demonstrations, training exercises and operational missions for all fielded versions of the system

Mandatory Skills Requirements:


• Strong network troubleshooting skills (especially Layer 2 and Layer 3)
• Deep knowledge of Cisco IOS configuration
• Experience with Juniper SRX setup and configuration (JunOS)
• CentOS based Linux
• Strong written and verbal communications skills

Other Skills Preferred:

• Experience supporting military personnel
• CCNA Certification
• Experience with Red Hat
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliant
• Experience with Wireshark/Tcpdump
• Experience working as part of Help Desk Team
