The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization has a leadership need for a Section Manager (SM) to support the RF Surveillance and Processing Department. The section manager will support the AMR (Airborne Multimode Radar) Product Line that is part of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Mission Area in Raytheon Space & Airborne Systems. This positon will specifically lead the Airborne Multi-mode Radar System Requirements section in McKinney, TX that is made up of IPTLs, LSEs, and System Engineering generalists. The section manager will work closely with the engineers, other functional managers, senior management, and the program managers to fully engage in and support AMR pursuits and initiatives. While the section that this position is over is primarily in support of AMR, staff also supports other ISRS and ACT programs and pursuits, and therefore interaction will not be confined to only AMR.
The highly qualified candidate must be a self-starter, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Candidate must have a strong work ethic and be flexible and adaptable in order to respond to customer needs as they arise. The candidate will also generate briefing material and must be able to effectively and clearly present the material to team members, customers, and various levels of management. The engineer must be able to grasp new concepts quickly and adeptly and be able to present concepts that lead to new business and growth. The engineer must also feel comfortable representing the company in various situations, sometimes being the sole representation.
Finally, this Section Manager position is responsible for leading a highly motivated group of 12-15 engineers working on a variety of development and production programs. The SM is responsible for all managerial aspects of the section including: providing adequate staffing/skill-sets for programs and proposals, staff performance and career development & training, support to tool/process development & deployment, administration of performance appraisals, merit increases, and providing open and honest feedback to section personnel.
