Our Intelligence, Information & Services Vice President of Business Development (BD) & Strategy is seeking an Operations Leader as a key member of the IIS Business Development organization. The BD Operations Lead will report to the VP of Relationship Executives and Pipeline growth. The Ops Lead will provide IIS BD with broad operational and strategic leadership for a distributed team. The IIS BD organization is responsible for growing well beyond a $7 Billion business through competitive pursuits and current program growth. This Operations role will lead in the following areas:
Create, execute and manage BD processes and tools for agility and efficiency to include:
Smooth operational workflow;
Deep data analytics and systems pipeline and relationship management; and,
Real-time metrics for success and improvement;
Champion innovation by defining key business needs, setting goals to meet them, and constantly assess for technology and upgrade opportunities.
Develop and support customer engagement opportunities to include identifying, managing, and coordinating executive management contacts, trade show participation, and messaging coordination.
Lead monthly reviews and corresponding metrics to improve competitive positioning and drive growth, and identify and evaluate business development opportunities that achieve sustained growth.
Communicate broadly and effectively with the IIS BD organization of all tool and process changes and improvements.
Develop an environment that encourages systematic planning processes at all levels of management.
Strong communicator who can develop and maintain effective relationships with internal business leaders, including corporate leadership teams. Working with internal business leaders to develop and implement organizational policies and procedures.
Oversee the IIS BD Learning processes to ensure the entire BD organization understands the tools at their realm as well as have the training opportunities for professional development.
Manage cross-organization Operations leads to ensure coordination and organizational creativity to achieve success
Will select and develop top talent into the organization. Oversight of the Global BD competency model deployment at IIS BD&S
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
Experience building and or significantly strengthening a company, as well as experience significantly improving profitability.
Strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple projects, understands internal and external requirements, and exceed expectations.
A good base of experience in the government services and / or the aerospace & defense industry.
Familiarity with capture/pursuit processes.
Extensive experience with insight into the government marketplace, including both customers and competitors (and trends) is required.
A strong technical marketing orientation and a familiarity with technical services and support.
The ability to make quick, sound decisions in stressful business situations based upon the known variables and past experience.
An insatiable desire to build relationships that will sustain the flow of business and maintain a solid customer base.
Strong financial acumen and the ability to make hard decisions in a timely manner will be a required competency.
Solid negotiating skills and the ability to effect change management.
Oversight on BD Operations Leadership to each Mission Area in support of the BDE
Leads and maintains the Implementation of ERPM across IIS BD and maintains system integrity across IIS. Ensures Transition of ERPM with Financial data in conjunction with Business Area Functions
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related subject plus a minimum of 16 years of applicable work experience or a Master's with 12 years of experience.
A demonstrated history of strategic planning and decision-making with the ability to develop, communicate, and implement broad goals across a large organization. Must have track record of major competitive wins, demonstrating the ability to lead successful capture teams.
Demonstrated ability to serve successfully as a principal spokesperson for the BD function on highly significant matters.
Must have a record of success with responsibility for final decisions on administrative or operational issues affecting major functions of significant importance to the corporation or organization.
Must have demonstrated strong and effective customer relationships.
