This job opportunity is for the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) position at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems (IIS), Aurora CO facility. The ISSO is responsible for the execution of the Information Assurance program at the Aurora facility as stipulated by various USG requirements documents including (but not limited to): JSIG, ICD 503 RMF, and associated NIST documents. The selected candidate will be responsible for the day to day effective execution of the Cyber Security program supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) to ensure information systems meet cybersecurity requirements and government directives to include (but not limited to):

  • Perform system auditing, vulnerability risk assessments, Assured File Transfers, hardware/software configuration management, data integrity containments and investigations on IA related security violations/incidents.
  • Provide cybersecurity education and training for all system users on appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Development of Assessment and Authorization artifacts (SSPs, System Profiles, SSP attachments, POA&M, testing documentation, etc.).
  • Interfacing with Internal/External Customers: Customer Representatives, Program Managers/Directors, IT, etc.

This position will report directly to the Western/Northern Region Cyber Security Manager for Raytheon IIS.

* This position will require the successful completion of a polygraph examination. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly Security Clearance.

Required Skills:
  • US Citizen with an active Top Secret Security Clearance or current Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
  • 4 years of prior relevant experience successfully and effectively interacting with internal and external customers (Customer Representatives, DAOs, Program Managers, etc.)
  • Experience supporting various computer hardware platforms and multiple operating systems, both stand alone and LAN/WAN configurations
  • Working knowledge of operating systems security features and settings (e.g. Windows, UNIX, and Linux)
  • Professional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, and ability to excel in a high-paced multi-tasked environment
  • Ability to act independently, prioritize tasks, and manage to schedule
  • Willingness to perform security tasks outside specialty (e.g. program security) and be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Visio, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written modes, and be able to author and present subject specific presentations. Comfortable with public speaking
  • DoD 8570.01M compliant Professional Certification (e.g. Security +, CISSP, GSEC, etc.)
  • Must be willing and able to travel to other locations as required up to 10% of work schedule

Desired Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of JSIG, ICD 503, NIST special publications, CNSS policies and instructions and other requirements documents associated with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Experience with various information system security assessment/hardening tools – Nessus Security Center, SCAP Compliance Checker, Retina, etc.
  • Working knowledge of Wide-Area and Local Area Networks (WAN/LAN), to include Cisco-based routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Prior ISSO/IAO experience
  • After being hired, candidate must be willing to be submitted for SCI access and take a polygraph examination.

Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, or related field of study; or 12 years’ experience in lieu of education 129077BR 129077
